About the project

Co-living at its finest

Canvas Living Brainpark marks Greystar’s second Canvas Living concept in the Netherlands. Located directly opposite Erasmus University, Canvas Living Brainpark places residents right within the daily rhythm of campus life.

Designed for students and young professionals, the building responds to a growing demand for compact, well-designed housing close to both university and workplace bringing together private living with a strong emphasis on shared communal spaces.

HPNG concept

The design is built on the idea of HPNG where every part of the building becomes ‘’a small happening’’. Nothing theatrical. Just subtle moments that make people look twice. A shift in geometry. A sculptural form. A change in colour or texture.

These transitions guide residents through the building. They keep the spaces active without adding noise. The environment becomes something you explore rather than pass through. It truly reflects Greystar’s focus on quality timelessness and human-centred living because the best parts of communal living aren’t planned; they happen in between.

The art of transformative spaces

Our scope covered the full spectrum of communal spaces from study rooms and meeting areas to game zones, the gym, private dining, cinema, music room, workshop and the public rooftop.

Think of it less as a list of amenities, more as a house at XXL scale. Each space has its own vibe  some made for focus, others for switching off or meeting people but all tied together through one shared design language. So whether you're working, working out, cooking, watching a film or catching sunset on the rooftop, we wanted it to feel like you were still at home.

The game room

Shaped by the hour

A long table that turns into a shared office by day and dinner party by night. A lounge that quietly hosts both solo study sessions and late-night conversations. A kitchen island that becomes the social heart without even trying.

These spaces were designed to shift throughout the day supporting different ways of living, working and unwinding within the same footprint.
