At hd+vk we design and create inspiring spaces for all voices. We’re a small and young interior design studio whose focus is designing extraordinary international projects such as hotels, holiday parks, offices, gyms, restaurants and bars. We work for MARRIOTT, IHG, Conscious Hotels, NSI, Greystar, Roompot, Sportcity, MEDIAPARK, among others.

We have a context-driven design approach and enjoy working with patterns, bold materials to create a human centered environment. We like to invent and re-invent design languages instead of sticking to one style.

Our firm is growing rapidly. Different international projects are running simultaneously. These projects need to be designed and managed. We’re looking for somebody who can work independently on multiple bigger projects at the same time.

In addition, it’s important the projects are designed at a high aesthetic level and that you will proactively ensure this kind of level during the execution of the project. You will contribute to the documentation of the final design and you will present this design to our clients.

Skills needed for this role:

• Your education is architecture or interior design at university level

• 3-7 years of work experience in a similar position

• Experience with design processes and maintaining client relations

• Fluent in English (speaking and writing) and understanding Dutch is important

Personal skills:

• Able to think on a conceptual level and translate this into practical ideas

• Good communication skills with a sensibility for commerce

• Used to work autonomously, being outspoken about your thoughts

• Ambitious inquisitive nature with a sense of humour, connected to current developments

• Good planning skills and the ability to keep an overview of multiple projects

Technical skills:

• You are well developed in SketchUp and AutoCad

• You know your way in the Adobe package (mainly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)

• We expect good general computer knowledge

• And of course Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

We’re offering a full-time job in a fun international work environment. But a work week of 32 hours is also possible. We’re not interested in freelancers. Foreign candidates must be already based in The Netherlands. Our working atmosphere is intense, but we’re very flexible. We do emphasize we prefer designers with an understanding of the Dutch language.
